I have definitely never been a great proponent of multilevel marketing opportunities. I don't like my good friends attempting to sign me up to market things simply because I am definitely the worse salesman on planet earth. Heck, I can hardly get anyone to permit me to present them something free of charge. Uh huh, I'm that bad. I recall the days as a teenager having to distribute products for school and church to raise money for camps, etc. I usually trusted my parents would bail me out given that I would likely have a lot of sales products unsold. I was certainly way too timid to travel door to door and trouble someone by asking them to buy products from shy guy. But, a MLM product line did ultimately come to my attention when my son got me into a quick and healthy weight loss program called the Advocare 24 day Challenge. However, more about that topic in a minute.
Just what helps a person to be a great one on one seller? I've seen them. I suspect it's men and women with good personalities, the skill to verbally connect well, and typically aren't afraid of being told no. Well, that's three strikes against me. Even though I have done a good bit of creating articles on the net, my communication proficiencies tend to be more effective whenever I'm using my keyboard than the times my lips are moving and words are coming out. (And you are probably reading this post and thinking - "you ain't doing really well with the words on this page either, mister)."
And what's even worse, I am a minister. And, as I believe, if you are a a minister, you absolutely need to have a belief that you have the most incredible information in the world that people need to hear. And I am able to stand up in front of hundreds of people in the church and sing a song or give a sermon and actually not be the shy person. However, when I am making a personal visit to someone that I do not know, I'm still sometimes like a shy little child. What is my problem there? But this has consistently been a portion of my personality.
Well now, let me go back to the Advocare topic for a moment. Although it is absolutely secondary to my church responsibilities, I do, however, participate as an Advocare distributor. My college age son had marketed Advocare's health and fitness supplements for several years (which certainly helped provide additional money while in school), but all my wife and I did with the products was use them. Certainly, I was really skeptical in the beginning, until we tried the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. It made such a difference in our overall level of fitness, energy levels, and we really shed a lot of lbs in the short period of 24 days. At that point we were sold on the products.
Well, last year my wife, Annette, and I finally decided that if we were planning to continue using the products, then we were not merely going to get the health advantages of the health supplements, but in addition to that, make some profits. And that was a wise decision for us. With Advocare people generate income by marketing the products and recruiting others. Does my wife have better success than shy guy here? Yep. But that is quite alright. I think that the quality of these health and wellness products are so good, even someone like me can market them!
So, if you are a shy salesperson, just make really sure that your product is a very strong one and works. Ours does.
