Remember the days where the only way to convert a Word or Excel document to PDF was to purchase a $600 license of Adobe Acrobat? Things have changed a lot since then. Now, there is a variety of free programs you can choose from to convert your files. Prices of these programs vary greatly; they can be anywhere from free to quite costly. As some of us might already know, commercial products are not always the best; in fact free, open source utilities match and many times surpass commercial software capabilities. In this article we will take a look at a free, open source utility called PDFCreator.
This option actually works for all versions of Office as well as any program on your computer with print capabilities. Is is specially useful for those of us who are still using older versions of Microsoft Office (like 2003 and below), which do not have the option to save in PDF format by default. In order for you to create a PDF in these older versions of Office you are going to have to install third party software that will allow you to “print to PDF”. Don’t worry, you won’t actually have to print anything, but rather use the print option to save your file as a PDF document.
After quite a bit of research, we picked PDFCreator; a free and open source utility that does much more than just save your file in PDF format. PDFCreator lets you alter the metadata inside the resulting pdf file, allowing you to include things such as keywords, author’s name, etc. It also lets you save your files to many additional formats like PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, PSD, SVG, among others.

Instructions
Download PDFCreator and install it on your computer; there is nothing worth mentioning about the installation, just keep clicking next until you finish.
Once installed, open the document you wish to convert; click on “File” and “Print“.
Make sure the printer is set to “PDFCreator“.

 Next, depending on your program, click on the “Print” or “Ok” buttons. After a few seconds, a second window will pop up. In this window, you can enter all the metadata you wish to be included on your PDF document; this is totally optional. When finished editing the metadata, click “Save” to convert and save your document in PDF format.


Saving to Other Formats (Optional)
On the same previous window there is an “Options” button; click on it if you wish to save your document in a format other than PDF.



Then, once PDFCreator’s option window open up, on the left-hand side column, click on “Save“.
On the right-hand section under “Standard Save Format“, click on the drop down menu and select the file format you wish PDFCreator to save files by default.
Click “Save” to finish.

If I join the Military, will I have to fight? This is a question that I often hear from potential military recruits when they are contemplating whether or not to join the US Armed Services. And while I cannot give you a yes or no answer up front, I will use this article to help YOU understand this idea and determine if the military is the right choice for you.When you join the US Armed Services, there is of course a chance that you will have to fight, but it's not a guarantee. Back in the day, the word 'military' or 'soldier' was synonymous with hand-to-hand combat.

There are many benefits to joining the this branch of the military. You are paid twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th based on your pay grade. It is a salary-based paying position. As you gain knowledge and perform well, you can be promoted. Your time is service is also factored into any promotions you may receive. You are paid 2.5 days of paid vacation per month for a total of 30 days per year (most companies won't offer that much time off until you've been around for 10 years or so).The US Coast Guard offers all specialties to both men and women, including combat roles. Your career path is based on aptitude, physical abilities, security clearance, motivation and determination.If you are an active member of the coast guard, you will receive complete medical and dental care at no cost, and you are covered for $400,000 in term life insurance at a minimal cost. You will also receive tax-free money for Basic Allowance for Housing, if government housing isn't available in the area you are stationed. You will also get Basic Allowance for Subsistence if government dining facilities are not available, and a uniform allowance.

Bootcamp, while quite exciting is no laughing matter. You will endure weeks of intense physical, mental, and academic training. You will be pushed to your limits and perhaps find yourself wanting to quit many times along the way. This is something that you must keep in mind, as only a true desire to succeed will help you survive. After bootcamp you will go through your specialty training school which will prepare you for your specific job within your branch of service. This can take anywhere from a few short months to over a year. While this is quite rigorous too, many find specialty training school slightly easier than bootcamp.

The Army depends on the vigor of youth, but you must be at least 18 to join the service, although a parent or guardian may sign a consent form if you want to enter at 17. Active-duty soldiers must be between 17 and 42, reservists between 17 and 40, and guard soldiers between 17 and 35.Your Citizenship's Status,The Army accepts any legal permit resident of the United States with a green card that substantiates his resident alien status for enlistment in the U.S. Army. If the recruit wants to become a citizen, he will be fast-tracked along the road to naturalization. Until that time, he might be restricted from performing some Army jobs, but he will treated as a citizen within the Army. US citizenship at the time of recruitment is not a requirement to join the Army.

I know my Dad served in the Army but did not see battle. I know my Grandpa Joe was in the Army but do not remember where or when. So, for me personally, I have not dealt with anyone who had war duty and how it affected them.

What all you need to be able to join the military services is courage and determination. There is a vast scope for promotion and salaries hike in the services and numerous other benefits are given by the authorities to the defense personnel. Today, the U.S. military is the second largest after the China and has its troops deployed all around the globe. More recently in early 2007, the Secretary of Defense has proposed to the President to increase the staff strength of military by 92,000 troops over a span of five years. The U.S. military budget is the highest of any country in the world. The disciplined and multifaceted work environment in the forces improves and refines the lifestyle of its personnel and their families.

You do not need perfect vision to join the service, however. As long as you have a vision problem that can be corrected with glasses or contacts or laser eye surgery, you will be able to serve in the military and perhaps even fly a plane. If you are colorblind, there are some jobs or positions you might not qualify for.The Military Needs Youth.When General MacArthur said "Old soldiers never die, they just fade away," he was not talking about military entrance requirements. There is no branch of the service which currently accepts recruits over the age of 42. If you hope to enter a competitive military academy such as West Point, the Air Force Academy, or the Naval Academy to become an officer, you must be age 17 to 22.

PROS AND CONS: Although I could not find any faults with the product, some complaints I found from others were that it can be a bit overwhelming since it is very comprehensive and gives a lot of detail. Some wished that it had a step by step guide or summary after each lesson as to what actionable steps to take..one way to overcome this is to listen and read everything over 2 to 3 times until it becomes clear, or reach out to the members forum and support desk. We all have setbacks in life and rather than give up and decide it doesn't work... reach out to someone who may have gone through something similar and will have the answer. Another complaint was that some wished it came as a physical product rather than digital... I personally like digital because I don't have to wait for it to arrive I have instant access, however; it is a rather large download and some may have slower computers or not the right amount of space.

It was rare to notice someone who was totally in the moment and enjoying that moment and what it had to offer.By contrast what did the small children want... to explore, have fun, watch, experience and learn. They were totally in the moment and having the full experience of that moment. There was a moment of enlightenment when in the middle of the hot sunshine, the clouds opened and a tropical rain storm began.everyone ran for cover. It was the conditioned response.

Starting Your Reiki Training.The main point is that you can become a reiki master. The decision is which route you want to take.I took the home study option, simply because it fitted in with my life better and the cost was much less.And I have to say that I am very happy with the training I received. The course has excellent email support and friends who took the other option of the weekend class have told me that there is much more information in the distance learning package.And of course I have all of the talks in MP3 format so I can listen to them again if I feel there is something I missed the first time through.The main thing is this...If you want to learn reiki you should go ahead and get started. I found it to be a wonderful adventure and I now know that I can help both myself and others in a real and lasting way.

I advise students that their real learning begins the moment they take a client who they do not know. It is easy practicing on family and friends... the true learning comes with a walk in client you do not know.You gain awareness about your own ability, your confidence, knowledge, and ability to help others... you also get real life feedback about the Reiki you have given and how it feels.
